The 19th National Research Scholars Meet was held on 7th & 8th December 2023. The theme was “Shape-Shifters in Biology”. An eminent guest lecture by Shri Nilesh Desai, Director SAC/ ISRO, graced the event with a special talk on Chandrayan-3’s historic journey to the moon. Young Scientist Speaker talks were a special addition to the event’s highlight, encouraging research vision and new perspectives.
The 18th National Research Scholars Meet was held from 7th to 9th December 2022. The theme was “Navriti: Research & Innovation in Conquering Diseases”. The event was graced by the Ex-Adviser of the UNITED NATIONS, Prof. Aditya Prasad Dash. A one-day hands-on workshop by Nikon on microscopy was a special event highlight. Selected abstracts were published in the Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology.
The 17th National research scholars meet was held on 9 th and 10 th December 2021 virtually owing to COVID-19 pandemic. The theme was “Metamorphosis: Evolved approaches to contemporary biological challenges”. Eminent speakers such as Padma Bhushan Padma Shri awardee Dr. T. Ramasami, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awardee Dr. L.S. Sashidhara and “Recycle Man of India” Dr. Binish Desai graced the event. Abstracts of all participants was published in Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology.
The sixteenth National research scholars meet was held on 11 th December 2020 as an online webinar programme due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The organizing batch of NRSM 2020 paid gratitude to the front-line warriors and heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their dear ones in this pandemic. The keynote speakers were Dr. Siddhartha Laskar, Professor of Radiation Oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital and Dr. Partha P. Majumder, National Science Chair, Govt. of India.
The fifteenth National research scholars meet was held from 4th to 6th December 2019. The theme of the event was “Need of the hour- to seek new doors or knock the ones in sight”. The event was graced by Dr. Jayant Naralikar from IUCAA as chief guest. A workshop on scientific communication was organised by Wellcome trust/DBT India Alliance and a lecture series on 'Science and beyond' was another highlight of the meet.
The fourteenth National research scholars meet was held on 3rd and 4th December 2018. The theme of the event was "Envision innovate translate". The event was graced by Dr. Bharat Vatwani of Shraddha Rehabilitation foundation as chief guest and a special talk via webinar by Mr. Sonam Wangchuk. The fun and creative side of the students was encouraged via events like cultural evening, scientifia quiz and the display on creative corner.
The thirteenth National research scholars meet was held on 14th and 15th December 2017. Apart from keynote addresses from various eminent speakers, this year's event also included a special talk by motivational speaker Mr. Vinay Kanchan. The creative and artistic side of the students was showcased through cultural evening and creative corner. Scientifia quiz encouraged the fun competitive side of the students.
The twelfth NRSM 2016 was scheduled for 15th & 16th December 2016. A special talk by Dr. Rajiv Sarin, Professor Radiation Oncology, ACTREC and a plenary talk by guest of honor Prof. Ashok Venkitaraman, Director, MRC Cancer Unit, Cambridge were arranged. Mr. Atul Tiwari, Director/Writer/Actor through his motivational speech inspired the young minds to achieve their dreams and turn them into reality.
The eleventh National research scholars meet was held on 17th and 18th December 2015. Chief guest of the 11th NRSM was Prof. Vetury Sitaramam from Formerly University of Pune. Keynote addresses were delivered by Dr. Vinay Nandicoori (NII, New Delhi), Dr. Rashna Bhandari (CDFD, Hyderabad), Dr. Amitabh Joshi (JNCASR, Bangalore), Dr. Aurnabh Ghose (IISER, Pune). Alongside, special talks by young scientists were delivered by Dr. Prajakta Dandekar (ICT, Mumbai), Dr. Abhijit Majumdar (IITB, Mumbai).
The tenth National research scholars meet was held on 18th and 19th December 2014. It included various keynote addresses by speakers from prestigious institutes. The event included Oral as well as poster presentations from graduate students as well as post-doctoral fellows from institutes all over the country. Students were encouraged to display their artistic skills through creative corner and cultural evening.
